Dashboard Layout

The content on a Cluvio dashboard is arranged in a grid of individual tiles. Each tile can be sized to best fit the content it displays and positioned on the grid so that related data is grouped together, making it easy for dashboard users to interpret the displayed information.

Overview Overview

A dashboard always utilizes the full width of the browser window, and the width of the tiles can be specified in 12 steps to determine the portion of the available width that the tile will occupy.

On mobile devices with narrower screens, a responsive mode displays only a single column of tiles.

The height of the tiles can be adjusted in increments of 40px. If the content exceeds the available window height, the dashboard will allow vertical scrolling to access all of the reports. There is also a special TV Mode that dynamically adjusts the tile heights to fit the window height. (coming soon!)

Editing Layout

To edit the layout of a dashboard, use the "Edit Layout" action from the dashboard dropdown menu.

In layout mode, use the bottom-right corner drag handle to resize the tiles and drag anywhere on the tile to adjust its position.

Once satisfied with the changes, use the "Save Layout" action to save them.

Overview Overview

Creating New Reports

After creating a new report using the "New Report" or "Duplicate" action, the layout mode automatically opens, highlighting the newly created report. You can then easily adjust the position and size of the new report and save the changes as usual.

Overview Overview

Floating Mode

The floating mode allows for freely positioning the dashboard tiles vertically, creating gaps between reports. When the floating mode is turned off (the default behavior), the tiles automatically "compact up," adjusting their position upward when there is empty space that a tile fits into, such as when a report above is deleted.

Overview Overview

Responsive Behavior

On mobile devices, such as phones or tablets in portrait orientation, the dashboard layout switches to a single-column mode to ensure that a useful width of the content is available.

Hint: The responsive behavior can be fine-tuned for sharing links / embeds via URL parameters.
